Meet Melissa

Melissa Price, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker and the founder of The Healing Place in Charlotte, North Carolina. She specializes in complex trauma and somatic psychotherapy, offering a deeply individualized, bespoke, high-touch therapeutic experience for clients seeking meaningful and deep transformation.

With over 15 years of experience in trauma-focused care, Melissa is extensively trained in advanced, body-based and neurobiologically informed approaches, including Brainspotting, Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Embodied Recovery, and Transformative Couples Therapy. Her work is grounded in a person-centered philosophy and informed by the latest research in neuroplasticity and nervous system regulation.

Melissa’s approach goes beyond symptom management. She works collaboratively with clients to understand how trauma lives in the body and nervous system, helping them build capacity, restore regulation, and reconnect with themselves from the inside out. Sessions are tailored with care and precision, integrating somatic awareness, relational depth, and evidence-based interventions to support profound healing.

Known for her warmth, attunement, and clinical depth, Melissa supports individuals and couples navigating trauma, emotional overwhelm, relational patterns, and mind-body disconnection. Her work emphasizes safety, consent, and curiosity—creating a therapeutic space where clients can slow down, listen to their bodies, and experience genuine transformation.
